there`s a guy in my neighbourhood who`s got a pair of brandnew hooker super comp. 5101 headers for sale. I know tti would be the way to go, but I dont have tti money and this sounds like a good deal. 440 auto with powersteering.  what issues will I run into? if any...

yes , the flanges go too high & will hit the angled ridge under the valve cover causing them not to seal , once you grind off / bevel the flange to fit it will sit against the power steering box ,you will need to Clearance them there [usually dent them ] , they hang low off the floor of the car so ground clearance will be reduced

sometimes, it is simpler to save your money, (or win the Lotto), until you can afford the known product.  I have learned this repeatedly.  :D

guess you`re right.... my wife said the same and she`s always right...  :22yikes:    if by the time I need them I still can`t afford the tti`s , I`ll go with factory hp manifolds.  :2thumbs:

A friend has the super comp headers on his car & the tube goes directly in front of the # 3 spark plug , we have replaced that ign wire at least ten times as it burns through even with double insulation on it , I tried using Hemi wires with the bakelite extension but that burns through as well , we will have to pull the engine , remove the header & rework it , cut & re angle the tube or cut a c into the tube & reweld it to get some clearance , cutting costs always costs you more $$ in the long run , Ign wires are not cheap & the time to pull the engine & rework the header will probably cost more then the TTi would initially , the problems is now we have to pull the engine anyway so figure at least 6 hrs in & out & fluids & then the cost to fix a crap header .
