K-member tag?
« on: September 03, 2011 - 07:00:31 PM »
So I just picked up my 1970new very cuda and a very knowlegable friend was surprised to see an oval tag welded to the K-Member. It has a 12closing stamped on it and is on the passenger side. What is the significance of it?

The "coin" as it's often called refers to the last two digits of the k frame part # in this case 2962012 which would be correct for an early production 318/340/383 K member but there were exceptions all the time on a factory assembly line...I've seen the coins welded to either side often upside down and I've seen a few with multiple coins...

Got another question. My car came with a new top(black) and two rear windows. All good and well but its a cloth unit not vinyl like the original. Was cloth an option?
