Need Alignment Specs ASAP!
« on: September 03, 2011 - 12:00:25 PM »
Hey guys,

I'm taking my 70 Challenger in for an alignment in the next couple of hours and hopeful I can get some feedback as to what specs to ask for.  This is a stock front end with BFG 235 15's front and 255 15's rear.

From what I see on other posts, these are the preferred frontend specs which I will ask for unless I hear back from you guys otherwise.

     Caster: + 4.0 Degrees
     Camber - 0.5 Degrees
Toe In   + 0.0625 INCHES PER TIRE or a TOTAL of 1/8 INCH

Max caster available
set camber 1/4 - 12* negative
 toe 1/16 - 1/8 "
it will steer like crap set stock , you are not using oldschool bias tires

Alignment completed and here's the numbers:

     Start:
Camber:   0.7* Degrees Left & 0.4* Degrees Right
Caster:    -0.2* Degrees Left & -2.2* Degrees Right
Toe In:    2.37* Degrees Left & -2.11* Degrees Right

     Finish:
     Camber:  -0.2* Degrees (Both Sides)
Caster:   -0.2* Degrees Left & -0.8 Degrees Right
     Toe In:   0.16* Degrees

The alignment tech indicated he adjusted it as far as he could and that I would need new Control Arms in order to make further corrections.  It certainly appears to drive better.

Any thoughts?

You often cannot get a lot of adjustment from the stock suspension , I usually start with the front bolts as far out as possible & the rear as far in as possible to max the caster & then back it off to get the camber right
if that is what he did you did the best possible adjustment & as long as it drives better that is good
