Shifting woes ...
« on: September 20, 2011 - 04:00:25 PM »
I finally have my car back from my mechanic!!!! The problem is, the T handle shifter from Year One sucks. I've gone through three of them in the last three years. I need a new shifter handle, but I want a good, solid, reliable one that isn't going to break every 400 miles.

Any suguestions?

The other problem is he worked on my shift points and linkage. The car shifts to second at about 2500 and third at about 3500 from an easy start. When I slap the throttle to 3/4 it shifts fine to second. Either way, I have to roll off the throttle to get it to shift to third.

What is the best/ easiest way to smooth out the shift issue?

In response to the second question, you need to back off your kick down linkage a bit. I'm talking about 1/16 or 1/8 of an inch.
