no fights yet. need to order a few finishing parts... had to order a new water neck, thermostat, manifold bolts, carb stud kit, bypas hose adapter...

i still need a few things though that i cant find on summit... a throttle cable holder that presumably bolts to the manifold? (remember i had a 6 pack) and i gotta figure out how i mount up the ahhh cable to the carb. and i might need a new cable, mine looks like it may be custom. maybe ill just mount it 'custom'

oh and i need an air cleaner to go with the 4bbl. got rid of the 6 pack setup on ebay for about $800.

also will be ordering the side stripe, new hood scoops (that i gotta paint now :/ ), need a chrome ring for one of the tail lights, a GRILL!!!, and some other stuff.  gotta get her running good first. fun fun. im on 12's all week though and i have drill weekend this weekend (california gaurdsman) so not sure if anything will get done any time soon.

had to replace the ignition switch on the wifes vw today... while i was in the store i picked up some 30w non detergent and some lucas zinc oil additive and a new filter.

btw, what do mopar people think of fram filters? i bought a carquest because its in my nature to stay away from frams. they do not maintain proper pressure levels on h20 vw's so they are a no-no in my mind.

I never use fram , usually Wix gold or Napa premium filters

water pump, balancer, intake, and carb installed last night.

order the following parts:
throttle cable bracket
throttle cable return bracket and spring
air cleaner assembly
carb studs
bypass hose nipples in manifold
water neck
thermostat

once i get all this in the mail i can resume work. all i got left to do until then is install the fuel pump, alternator, fan+belt, and valve covers.

almost there :) cant wait to drive it. i had a dream about driving it the other night, it felt good in the dream.
