Newbie from north with a 71 Cuda
« on: May 28, 2012 - 01:35:26 AM »
Hi all, Well I have been reading the site for months and finally got around to joining. I bought a 71 Cuda project car, it was painted but all apart a friend and I hauled it up to Alaska in January it went from 70 degree in Texas to -30 below in 5 days of driving. I spent a few months going through everything rebuilding and painted all the drivetrain parts. Its a factory bahama yellow with black billboards and 340 4bbl but now has a 6pack. Factory shaker car, pwr brakes, manual steering, 727 trans. There was alot of parts I had to get and still little items I keep finding I need. This is my first Cuda but I have several Chargers a 68,69,70. And a 70 Challenger drag car. I was also looking for some help. I came close to damaging the tailight panel trim trying to snap the 2 long pieces over the white plastic clips. Anybody that could tell me the right way to install this or a trick would great... I'll try my hand here to post some pic's..... Thanks

We live here in Fairbanks. Ive always wanted a Cuda since I was a kid, a few 70's Barracuda's up here got away from me over the years. Ive bought all my Chargers up here and have had them since the mid 80's my 68 was my high school project car in body shop. I love all mopars but the 71 Cuda grill is my favorite and when this car came along I went to look at it and made a deal. My 70 Charger is on a rotisorie and got put to the side so I could finish the Cuda first. This is a great site its been a big help on putting this car together. I love pic's too so here's a few more. Thanks

Yeah, blue with a white stripe! I like that!

Was that charger a white interior or a blue interior?

Hey cuda hunter, the 70 Charger is a b5 and b5 interior. It has some cool options with a/c, pwr brakes, pwr steering, 6 way bucket seat and pwr windows. 440 4bbl with 727 r/t car with hood performance stripes, White vynal top and rear stripe. Ive already done all the metal work and I was just starting on the body work. I already build all the drivetrain for it in 08 and 09 but the cuda is alot closer so I jumped over to it. thanks....

Welcome to the site!  It seems that you have MOPAR blood running through your veins.  Nice Cuda, great color!  Your Challenger looks awesome too, any more pictures of that one?

Hey guys thanks for the welcome. Its been great checking out the site with the members awesome cars and on going projects. I should have the cuda out for 2013 summer and I can't wait. The only other pic of the challenger is this one......I dont really have many of it. We go to Alaska Raceway Park ( in Palmer) with it when we can. Thanks
