LCD TV help
« on: October 07, 2011 - 02:13:32 PM »
I have question for you tech guys. In our 3 season porch we have had a tube TV. We just got a LCD for out there. We don't heat the room in the winter and shut it up. Will the new LCD TV be OK out there or should I bring it in so it doesn't freeze. We get to -30 easily in the winter and I don't want to wreck the TV. Any help would be helpfull.

From what I gather, there is a minimum storage temp and operating temp spec for most LCD tv's.  I'm going to guess that those low temps will not be good for the tv, can you bring it in for the winter?  Condensation is also a major issue with these new tv's as they are basically a computer inside.

I would agree bring it in for the winter. Condensation would be my concern.
