Yea, this settles it.  Y'all can keep your E bodies.  I will take a fastback Barracuda, and be just as happy! ;D  Plus, that leaves more E bodies for you!

Ghost,

Thanks for leaving the E-Bods for for us ( although I no longer consider this one an E-Body )  Wish I could return the favor, but if I see a nice A-Body Cuda, I'm snapping it up.  ;D

Well, I think the Viper graphic on the underside of the hood looks dumb, the wagon wheels look cheesy, the custom valance looks umday... but I'll take the car anyday!

BTW- That is one really cool interior.

Not for me! it's a super looking car, but has lost the originality of the 70's. Thats what keeps us all enthused, going back in time!

I'd have been happier if he fabricated a new body and bolted it onto the viper frame to look like a Cuda rather than wreck a real barracuda convertible for this.

He cheapened the Cuda name. Joe Rogans car I like, just needs to be a real color, silve does nothing for it IMHO. :dontknow:

This is what is wrong with the hobby.....too many folks are stuck in the old way or no way.  The car has had a tremendous amount of creativity and engineering to make an "old"car technologically equal to the new stuff.  I image it is faster, handles better, and stops better than any factory Cuda ever made.  Cars like this and Rogan's are what is bringing Mopars back to the forefront.  I hate the fact that prices are going crazy but at the same time love it.

I can respect anyone's car but to me it gets boring quick to see a line of the same colored Cudas with rallys at the car shows.  I like individuality with my cars.

I dont think there is anything "wrong" with the hobby, and the demand for correctly restored cars back to factory condition. And the prices these "boring" restored cars bring is proof of that. A concours restored V or R code car will ALWAYS bring more $$ than a modified car of similar type. Thats just the way it is because more people want their cars to be restored back to original condition. This is mostly about nostaligia and reliving your younger days, and a V-12 Cuda with a viper interior is not part of that. I've got no problem with people modifying their cars, who am I to say what someone can do to thier personal property. But I'm sure allowed to voice my opinion.

Now my Cuda is not exactly "factory"...stroker hemi, polygraphite suspension, big aftermarket sway bars, frame connectors, and someday a Keisler 5 speed conversion and Dana 60 rear. Thats a long way from it's factory configuration of 440-6 auto 8 3/4 rear. But overall, it still looks the part of a car from 1971. Thats the way i like it, and I really dont care what anyone else thinks, I did not build this car for anyone but me.

If there is a problem with the hobby, it's the fact that now investors are coming in who dont have a real clue as to what these cars are all about. They buy them for the investment value alone, the cars are just a part of their investment portfolio. This happened before, and all of us who were there remember the fall too. I can say this time the climb has been longer and faster, we'll see when it ends, but it will end sometime. I can remember when the "classics" IE Dusenbergs, V-12 Caddys, coachwork Packards, and Stutzs were way up there. While these cars are not cheap today, they can be bought for just a fraction of what they brought 10-15 years ago. Sorry for being so long!

I like the car, yes it was at the Nats. last year and the Cleveland car show the year before. And who knows, just maybe he bought a basket case Cuda to do this project instead of "ruining" a good E-bod? The hobby is alive and well and it will always come down to the fact of personal taste and budget limitations, would I do this even if I had the money? No, but thats just me, but that dosen't make this "creation" wrong or a dis-service to the Mopar hobby world, how can you consider this worse than say taking a 69 Charger and building a dukesmobile?

Bottom line: Your car........Your money, and the rest is up to you I guess?

In the end that's right......its not my money or car to decide.  It is just funny to me now to see some folks (mainly on other boards) immediatedly dismiss a car because it has wheels bigger than 15", painted a non factory color, or modified beyond factory.  It is humorous to see folks especially at Moparts slag a car with larger wheels all the while their car is tubbed with huge tires in back.  Do I have a problem with the way they did their car, no, but I do find it hypocritical sometimes.  I applaud the fact that we have folks taking an interest in our cars and the aftermarket is coming out with new products to modernize our old muscle.
