1970 Challenger Project Car Wanted
« on: January 24, 2012 - 03:24:51 PM »
I am looking for a 1970 challenger project car.  :1zhelp:

Can be a complete car or a rolling chassis. I am not looking for numbers matching cars, I can't afford the high dollar they bring.

I would like an RT car, if not I will be cloning it.

I am looking for a starting point for my challenger project that has a complete body, that is fairly straight and would make a good starting point for restoration. I have wanted an E-body for as long as I can remember and am looking forward to kicking off my first restoration project.

I am looking for a reasonably priced car that needs a lot of work done to it.

I have no problem doing engine, transmission, mechanical work, painting etc but would like to do as little body work as possible. Would like the sheet metal to be straight (doesn't have to be original) and all of the frame must be straight and rust free

How it was speced from the factory doesn't matter much to me as I will be building a resto-mod anyhow. Factory AC would be nice but not a must.

I am open to a 1971-74 challenger for the right price, in that case I will be replacing the grill and tail lights to give it the 1970 look. Also I would be open to a cuda as a project if it is a steal. But from what I have always seen they are slightly more expensive and I am partial to challengers anyhow.

My end goal is a 1970 RT challenger, with a carbuerated 5.7L Hemi built to 500 hp, with a 5 speed keisler manual, with a dana 60 trac pack, black with custom carbon fiber side and hood striping, white interior

An help/tips/advice is greatly appreciated on how to approach my project, where to look for cars, etc

Like I said I have wanted an E-body for as long as I can remember, and am finally ready to launch this project. Just waiting for the perfect car to come along for the starting point. 10k is the max I am willing to shell out for a starting point on a project and depending on the condition would like to stay under 5k if possible. I have been searching for a while and saving my money and have no problem waiting for the right car to come along!

Nobody like an E-body!
