I can see the point with one word replies or the same copy and pasted reply (especially for the introductions section). I'm on another forum and there is a mandatory 100 posts or something to post a for sale ad. The basis of this is to build a rapporteur or a name for yourself so people can see what kind of person you are and hopefully get a general idea by looking back at your past posts.

There was a guy trying to sell something and his post seemed a little shady so I looked back at his past posts. Nearly all of them were a copy and paste, "Welcome to the site" or simple reply like "nice". This was obviously done to build his post count. The mods must have missed it or are just more laid back.

It's annoying when people do it just to build a post count but it is nice sometimes just to chime in and say "Cool!".

And who the hell cares about "getting credit for the deleted post."  LOL

What site is that, I have an Associated TC4 that does 53mph with a 8.5t brushless and 3s LiPo. I also have a .25 Savage, E-Maxx, 2 Associated Rc18mt's, a helicopter, and 2 boats.

Just to be fair I won't say the website name but it's an XMODS site (1/28 scale)......in the UK.....  ::) Maybe they are more prim and proper?  I dunno.... nice RC cars BTW!

4C, you're a genious!!!   :roflsmiley:  :woohoo:

go-fish, can definately see the 100 post deal thing.  Never know who you are dealing with.

I guess it's the bandwidth thing I can understand.  They never mention bandwidth though.  If they did, I can see why they police like that but I mean, be nice about it and state the case as it is if that is the case.

I have a friend who is a mod on an Android forum. He spends all day sitting at his computer monitoring every post and having red mist moments if someone posts a basic question, even if they start the thread with 'I just bought this phone and have no idea what I'm doing, can someone please help me'. The funniest thing I've ever heard was him telling us that he had to give a spambot a warning that it's posts had nothing to do with Androids.
Some people have too much time on their hands and really need a hobby other than internet police. I like it here, you can ask dumb questions without anyone making you feel dumb, it's pretty civilized and you almost get the feeling that it's just a bunch of people in the same room having a conversation.
