Avatar sizes...
« on: March 04, 2005 - 12:56:24 PM »
I guess one of my pet peeves is ungodly huge avatars.

Normally on other sites, I re-size someone's avatar & offer a smaller one to them as a courtesy, where it's usually taken as a helpful thing to do.
I was going to try that here too, but I can't seem to save an avatar pic from this site to my hard drive.

The way this site is set up, the avatars can only get so wide...but they can be as long as my arm!
I don't know what can be done, or if anything really needs to be done...maybe it only bugs me?  Maybe it's only on my screen? Maybe I should quit complaining? :dontknow:

An example of the main ones I'm thinking of are seen in these threads;
Alaskan TA; http://www.cuda-challenger.com/smf/index.php?topic=8796.15 (all you can see is a big elbow)

Chryco & Top Cat Cuda; http://www.cuda-challenger.com/smf/index.php?topic=8913.30 (Chryco's is a great shot of a wall & door, Top Cat's is a grille & bumper)

Cudagirl440pk; http://www.cuda-challenger.com/smf/index.php?topic=8889.0 (great shot of grass & trees)

There are other smaller avatars that you only have to scroll a little to see most of the pic...that doesn't bother me half as much. ;D
I would be happy to work on some of the avatars if people would like, I just need to be able to save them to my computer.

Ok, that's all. :ack:

try not to get too pushy with the members.  if they want their avatar shrunk, its 2 minutes for me.  i can even host it on the site and they dont have to worry.  all they have to do is ask...

I already told Chryco I'm moving his to his signature.  Already resized it so it would fit just need him to log in and I'll move it for him!!  The avatars don't bother me . . .the large ones I just ignore.  It seems that some members have a problem with the moving ones too . . . but I'm cool with that also!   See  . . . just talk MOPARS and this is me - - - >

And I can completely agree with that reasoning. I honestly think that some members may assume that others can see the whole avatar...maybe.
I guess what I'm thinking of is a way to give a courteous awakening that will let them know whuzzup. ;D

Maybe if there was a poll thread on how one's avatar looked, that might help?? I could start the poll...
