as far as brand goes, cant go wrong with holley or edelbrock carb.  Got an edelbrock 750 4 barrel on my 340, and love it  :2cents:

The Holley Street dom is not made for the B engine anymore & it is tough to get a used one , next choice would be the Eddy RPM .
 I would use a 750 Proform carb

If I stay with the 383 in my Roadrunner, I'm going to stroke it and definitely go with a six pack.  What's wrong with yours?  I know that can be pains in the ass to tune properly, I'm definitely thinking about adding metering blocks which provide for quick jet changes.  Just curious why you're thinking about going away from what I have planned.

Another great manifold on a hot 383 is an original Torker intake.  My 383 ran super with one before I changed to one I could use under my Air Grabber hood.
