Trunk Light for 1970 Challenger
« on: November 01, 2011 - 07:09:45 PM »
hey ....

Anyone know where I can get my hands on the trunk light harness and receptical?

My car did not have one from the factory, but it sure would help getting things out of the trunk at night..   :)

Go to a junk yard and look in every trunk till you find on that you like. Many had mecury switches in them so they would only light up when tilted.  You tie into the dome light wire right behind the left trumk hinge.  I even added a toggle switch to turn off my light if I want to leave my trunk up.

Some GM vans have a nice hood light with a plastic cover over the bulb.

They're also on ebay regularly. Luckily it looks like one of those parts that Chrysler used in many applications, so they're not expensive.

If you want a factory setup, you need the light/harness/mount and the plunger switch. I'm going to be setting it up at some point myself.

Talk to Jim at JS Restorations.  I know he has a few.  You should see his ad at the bottom of this page.  You can also find him under the companies section.  His user name is slotts.
