All I can say is "HOLY $$%$##%#"  I cant believe the $$ this car brought. And check out the question about being underpriced!!!! Is this for real??  This is starting to get out-of-hand here!

Thats what I was thinking. I'm sure it could be done for under 80K, and be a concourse correct recreation. ;)

WoW!

Not even a rottiserie restoration!

Car has lots of issues:

-unpainted hood pin brackets
-generic battery
-plain 3-speed auto
-no elasto bumpers (guess that's a personal decision, but I prefer the fr. rubber bumper)
-no cuda trim around the taillights
-no right side mirror
-no spoiler or lugg. rack to break up the plain rear
-4 wheel drum brakes
-no washer bottle
-fender tag ugly
-wiper motor ugly
-looks like wrong color engine paint (could be pic. quality)
-wrong year dashpad
-new trunk missing the spare tire rod bracket
-massive overspray in the trunk (look at that trunk latch and wires!)
-no Rallye dash
-nothing particular interesting about the engine
-no fog lamps
-no other interesting options (rim blow, power windows, gran coupe trim, leather seats, etc.)

No wonder 318 'verts that are rust buckets are commanding big prices!  Throw together a paint job and a Hemi engine and triple your investment!

I just love the question asked of the owner:  "...why such a low buy it now?"

Say what?!?!?

If you're going to build a clone that's supposed to look original, boy does this one needs some work!  If you're going to build a custom car, then having non-original items are okay, but then go full custom like pro-touring or something!

Sheesh, there's a lot of fools with money.

I think a lot of people see "Hemi" and just go nuts.
This is the line that is between what I would consider "collectors" or "historians" such as many of the people on this forum and a consumer with money to spend on a "cool car".

Many of the people look at this car ( ragtopchally ) and can without seeing this car in person list NUMEROUS issues with this car. Then again who ever bought this car probably went to school with a guy who had a car like this and it didn't matter what is correct, but again the Hemi name and it's a convertable.

So the moral of the story is, if a guy who has money to spend and something catches his eye, be it an orginal or not, he is getting that said item.
Oh and I'm stuffing a Hemi in my '73 and will hold out for only 75,000 big ones.  :bs:

I still see some decent 72-4 going for a reasonable price!!

All still look pretty reasonable compared to what they could be!! I like the red/white one!    :grinyes:  :grinno:  :grinyes:  :grinno:

I dunno, only 1 has reached the reserve.

On one hand it is great to see those of us with Barracudas have a car of rising value, but at the same time parts are getting crazy.

I was curious as to what was happening with this situation.  Let's hope it doesn't take too long to get things back on track with it.  Some crooks! :banghead: :pissed: :madvibe: :gripe:

I can only say that the guy was offered to settle out of court..fairly. Now looks to go to trial. I guess formal filings take some time. Sometime next month should get a court date.

Will keep ya'll in the loop as it progresses.
