    Bleeding power steering 04 Ram? **Update-still noisy**

    Just replaced the pressure side ps hose and refilled with fluid but it`s making a niose like there is air in the sytem or something.I turned the wheel back an forth a number of times and drove it around a bit and figured it would go away or do I need to bleed it somehow?

    When you turn the wheel from lock to lock that should bleed
    the air out of the system. Sometimes it takes a while to purge
    it all.

    May take a few days to work the air out.
    Ideally you should have refilled the system and the turned the wheel lock to lock without the engine running. You can also connect a vacuum pump to the top of the reservoir if you have an adapter and vacuum bleed the air out.

    I don`t drive it every day but it`s been a month and it`s still making noise.Did I hurt the pump running low on fluid?I did drive a couple miles low in fluid but turned around and got home and filled it up with fluid untill I changed out the hose.

    Jeff, I replaced my pump on my Durango with an aftermarket unit. It made noise as well.
    ReplacedTHAT with a new pump from the Dealer. No noise, and 2 yrs. later, still no noise.  :thumbsup:
