Power Steering Pump Pulley
« on: December 03, 2011 - 12:30:40 PM »
My power steering pump pulley has warped on my 73 340 chally to the point where it throws the belt everytime I drive it.  Does anyone know where to find a replacement?  I've checked all the usual places and there seems to be no shortage of replacement pumps but I havent been able to find a single pulley.  Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks guys, I checked mancini and Bouchillon and it looks like they are all for B/RB/Hemi applications.  You think it will fit ok on the 340?

first do you know what pump you have , the are 3 the TRW [rare] , Federal round body with round neck & the Saginaw [GM] with oval fill neck or tear drop shaped body , some bolt onn with a keyway , some press on , the big block version May work but may have a different offset to line up with the crank pulley

It's the early saginaw with the keyway non press version.  I was worried about the offset with the big block pulley but it looks like it's my only option.  Guess if it doesn't work I'll just have to find a 440 to match..

Could you press the old one back straight? I watched a guy hammer one on an old tractor back staight. He just wanted it to work and it did.

I am replacing my 73 with a march kit, I will check if it is press or key. If its what you need its yours. If you have not heard back from me send me a pm as I am pretty busy. Thanks   chris
