Power Brake Assist via the Power Steering Pump

 1. I ran across a beautiful 70 Cuda the other day. The Cuda had Power Steering and Power Brakes. The power breaks where fed not by Vacuum, but by the power steering pump. It was an incredible modern day site..  I kick myself in the butt for not being able to stick around and talk to the owner.

Does anyone one know who makes the kit to do such a conversion?

2. If my car today has Manual brakes, and I put on power brakes, will there be a problem, other than the brakes being very sensitive since I am giving full leverage to the master cylinder without the standard leverage brake per say between the brake pedal and the master cylinder?

GM has used that system for decades on the 1 ton trucks , probably they have adapted that ssytem , it is called hydroboost

Same with the imports. Audi has had this sytem on their upper end cars with ABS since 84-87

I was able to track down the owner of of the Cuda..

He got the unit at:

He is very happy with it thus far and said it was easy to install and works great.

I am going to call them on Monday to go over the details for my application.
