Add-on Power Locks

That is a cool add-on. Cheap too which is always a bonus.  What remote kit/switch mechanism did you use?

The kit I used had a controller that allows the 2 locks to close together. If you lock or unlock one lock manually, the other one automatically follows.  I don't see the type I bought for $20. It had a small controller and no remotes or receiver, and the actuators had 3 wires each so that the controller knew if each one was up or down.

  You can get a simple setup with 2 actuators and 2 relays that switches or an alarm controls, like below for $9.99 on Ebay:

Just wanted to bring this thread back up and include some of my own pictures.  While I had the window out I installed the same basic eBay kit.  I originally tried to use the outer most bolt from the door latch mechanism to mount the top part of the bracket, but it turns out the door latch mechanism would hit the nut that I had added and wouldn't close completely.    So I ended up having to drive two screws.  No big deal.  The actuator sits a crooked as a result, but there is more then enough play in all the parts that it shouldn't be a problem.  On the other side I'll mount it more vertical.








Anyway for 20 bucks plus the cost of a cheap alarm or keyless entry system it seems like a good mod.  Thanks ShelbyDogg for originally posting this!!!

Glad to help out. 
Now next on my list is to hide a tilt and rotate motor inside my passenger side door mirror. I have to reach over with a stick to adjust it.  Maybe an LED inside the mirror housing to blink when my turn signal is on, so I don't drive for miles with it still on. Or LED right in the glass.
