Yeah guys, it was pretty cool the way things went down with the timing and such.

This year has been crazy with barn finds and junkyards.  I've taken 4 times as many pictures as last year.

Lets hope that this trend continues and next year will be even better!

For your pleasure, Part 3 is up.

This one isn't so sad, except for the old cars rusting away.

Did you happen to get more pics of that 64 maroon lincoln continental?

That is quite the stash of cars there.   Thanks for posting.

Can't wait for that daytona nose!!

Great stuff Ryan!

I took special note of the "Lee Roy Yarbrough" Special.  that is a custom job, and it looks nicely done. some one knew their NASCAR for that.  The red and white Cyclones for 1969 were Cale Yarborough Specials, the Blue and white Cyclones were Dan Gurney Specials.  hence the east coast and west coast theme (though both were sold across the US).  only about 350 Cyclone II (the aero nose) cars were built.  Mercury apparently didn't want to spend a whole lot of money on these cars, thinking they wouldn't sell, so there were all outfitted with 351's, bench seatsm and an AM radio, all exactly the same.  On the other hand, people liked the two tone paint, and the Cale and Dan "Special" package, that Mercury slapped those on the regular nose cars, with any engine sixe, or option.  it unknown how many of those were made.  there were at least 150 of them, as when NASCAR came to count the aero cars, Mercury only had 350 built, and had to fill out the required 500 with the regular nose cars parked nose in, and the back of the lot.  NASCAR never knew, and Mercury was happy to be done with the program!
