Clone a 71 from a 70

Seeing as how I cannot find a 71 in decent shape for a decent price, what does it take to fit a 71 front clip on a 70?   I want to end up with EXACTLY

As far as I can remember you need to change the header panel, front valance, the part that holds the headlights in place(can't remember the name), either fenders with gills or gill patches, bumper brackets, and the grille. There are also little things like the electrical wiring for the lights in the valance and the four headlights, but that can be done with a little wire and some connectors.

I'm changing my 72 into a 71 so I've been picking up all the 71 specific stuff for my car.

If I can think of anything else I'll add it to the list.

71 has a differnt' steering column also.

  i bet its easyer to look for a 71 barracuda, and have the fenders stamped for the gills.

tail lights too.  I think the rear panel is the same though. The tail panel trim is `Cuda only .  Not sure if it`s very cost effective to use a 70 to start with.

Maybe make a later year Cuda into a 71, but not a 70.

The 70 is the first E Body that will never change.

Sounds really expensive to me! You want to start with a very desirable and expensive 70 and tear it apart to clone it with very desirable and expensive parts from a 71. In the end you will be telling people it is a 70 made to look like a 71. My advice is to keep looking for the 71 that you really like or as mentioned start with a 72-74 since they are much cheaper. Good luck and think it through, cause playing in this world can drain your wallet quick!
