"Saving Cars Behind Bars" #2 Update
« on: January 26, 2005 - 04:12:01 PM »
For those who might be interested, you can go here to see the photos of SCBB #2, which will be a clone of a 70 426 Hemi R/T convertible. Plum Crazy, black top and stripes with white buckets and interior and a console. I have an NOS pistol grip shifter, the console, the ram air setup, rebuilt rallye dash and a 1969 dated Sun Tach. Chrysler is donating the crate hemi and Year One has pitched in with $1500 as well as NAPA with $500. We hope to have it ready by fall for sale on eBay. It should be quite the car. This spring, the Hemmings Muscle Car magazine will be doing an article on the program and the car.

Wow, you've come a long way already!  I still think this is an awesome program and look forward to reading the Hemmings article.  We're kicking around the idea of doing something similar at our church.  We have a large community of single parent families where the teenage boys are growing up without any kind of male influence or teaching.  We thought we'd take an old car and a couple of hours every Saturday and teach them a thing or two.
