Hemi E-body . Power steering gear removal ??????
« on: January 20, 2012 - 04:49:48 PM »
Help,
I need to change the steering gear box in a Hemi E-body and I see no easy way to get the box out.

Anyone have tips or tricks I may need to know before hand ?

it's power steering and power disc brakes if it matters
.

Looking at it I come up to remove the left torsion bar and left lower control arm to slide the box out the bottom .
Or remove the power brake booster and master cylinder assy then bring it out the top?????????

Remove the drivers side header/exhaust and it will fit out the bottom. No Need to remove the torsion bar. It fit out the bottom of my 440 car. Drop the centre link before you unbolt the gear.  :2cents:
(Think you meant to post this in the 'Suspension, Wheels/Tires' area though?  ::))
