Well here it goes....My First Mopar : 1970 Cuda
« on: January 23, 2012 - 07:25:45 PM »
Hello Everyone growing up Ive always been a hardcore chevy fan  :nono: and never thought id get anything but chevy but in the last year or so Mopars have realllly started to grow on me and now I want them all! And now Im getting ready to tackle my first Mopar. Its a 1970 barracuda, Id like to make into a Hemi Cuda clone  :dogpile: depending on the expenses, if Hemi proves to be to expensive I suppose ill go with a 440 6pak  :dunno: I got this car late last spring and shortly after I got it I left for a deployment for Uncle Sam's Marine Corps  :wavingflag: Haha so anyways when i got back I got a tip on what was supposed to be a real 440 cuda soon to b available for sale. So I put this one for sale just in case I needed to sell it quick. Well needless to say the other "Cuda" turned out to be a fake so I held on to this one! This is going to be a slooowwww restoration because One im in the military, trying to get college finished and two its my first restoration and im learning. The plan is to hit the Chrysler Nationals at Carlisle this summer to pick up all of the sheetmetal I need for the car and thats when the real work is going to start! :working: So im sure Im going to need plenty of tips along the way from all of you guys on here because im definitely a newb  :newbie:

Welcome!

Looks like it's a good candidate for restoration!

What was the original color?

Did the car come with a fender tag or build sheet?

So, what metal needs to be replaced?

Thanks for the service! :wavingflag:

I was wondering does anyone know of any other threads wether on this site or another documenting a 1970 Cuda restoration that are very in depth both with pictures and details such as tips and paints/primers etc that they used on rebuilding different parts that are salvageable?  :clueless: I think if I could find something like this itd be a huge help for me in my restoration!  :clapping:
