How tight should they be to the inner fenders, Just replaced mine( did not take them off) they are right against theoutside that you would take the paint off, can you leave the outer steel rings off ? Thanks

As i recall the fit was snug removing them. There was about a 1/8" gap from the arm to the flange of the bushing.
I eyeballed the new ones and one side would not go in so I had to press the bushings in a little further.
Clear as Mud?
