Engine/trans install
« on: February 10, 2012 - 10:56:28 PM »
Getting ready to install a 440 engine with a Keisler 5 speed into the car for a mock up.Has anyone here done the install with the trans bolted up and used an engine tilter  for the install?Just wondering if it can be installed together. Thanks Sam

this may be possible but it will be the hardest way to install it , you will probably scratch the paint if you are worried about that , I often install everything bolted together including headers & starter but I put everything on a cart , bolted to the K frame , lift the body roll everything under the car & drop the body over the engine & trans & bolt it up from the bottom just like the factory did .

Thanks for the input. Not worried about scratches at this point.Just putting motor and trans in for a mock up.The car has a XV Motorsport suspension upgrade and the body work has been done.Engine compartment is not in primer yet so scratches no problem. After paint then engine trans will be bolted up to K-member for final install.First Challenger to be done at this shop and another one lined up to come in. Thanks Sam

You should be able to slide it in at a high angle , dropping the the trans way down & removing the pulleys & water pump
