Most Cost Effective Dana 60 ?
« on: February 07, 2012 - 01:06:16 AM »
I'm thinking about converting to a Dana 60,  I've found some B body ones but no E body.  I've heard Jeep pickup axles are the best to work over, is that true and what all will it take?

I'm not too cheap to do it right I just don't want to get hosed because I didn't know something.

The sticky right above your original post is a good starting point.
Lots of info with the search button. I don't believe that any Jeep's
came with a Dana 60. The biggest is a Dana35 me thinks.
If I cant fix it, it's broke

Some Jeep PICKUPs came with them, but most others like CJ's, Wranglers, etc did not.
The Dana 35 is one of the weakest Jeep axles and then there are a bunch in the middle...

All you want and more...

Nothing wrong w/a b-body Dana.  Just get the relocation brackets and you'll have even more tire clearance.

I found a good deal on a 68 B body axle, but it's 4.10 and I want 3.54.

By the time I swap them out for $500 or so with parts I guess I might as well buy a $1850  bolt in from Dr Diff.
