Hemi MDS VVT swap into a 74 Cuda?

Does anyone out there know the best way to swap a newer 5.7 Hemi MDS VVT into a 74 Cuda. I would like to make it a daily driver.
A buddy of mine and I just finished a swap of an 03 5.7 Hemi into a 73 Gremlin and has worked out great.

Lots of folks on here have done 5.7 and 6.1L swaps.  Are you trying to retain the MDS feature?  I haven't heard about anyone making that work, but in theory it should work with a factory stock computer.

There are headers, motor mounts and oil pans all available to make the swap.  Buchillion has all the parts to make the swap:

Also Modern Muscle Performance is a sponsor on here and they have done a number of the swaps as well:

Get ahold of your buddy and do the same thing you did to the Grimlin...  :smilielol:

Travis is corect I'm sure it can be done, most swappers don't worry about the mds. You can use the newer car motor without removing the mds with no issues.

Do you want the mds to work?

Using a motor with MDS would be a pain to do. You would aslo need to use the computer controlled Nag 1 or th 465LE truck transmission for it to even try to work.
As for VVT we are working on a new 392 right now to test. IMO I would stick with the early 5.7 or 6.1L for ease of install.
