I just installed quite a bit of Dynamat on floor pan and package tray so far. No significant difference in heat. It has made a difference in sound though, in particular when I did the package tray.

A friend of mine did his 70 Cuda and advised that you only need to do strips, two or three inches wide with three or so inches in between, lightens it up and still provides the same deadening. Just tap on the piece of metal you are working on, add the Dynamat in strips until you hear it deaden and your done.

Hope that helps everyone.

I see a lot use this guy's stuff and claim good success.  He advocates doing it as your friend said.

For those of you looking for the heat shield, foil backed jute (carpet padding) to place between teh carpet and Fatmat or glue to the roof like I did here is a link to it.  I bought mine at JC Whitney but they no longer sell it.

Price don't seem too bad at $17.00 per running yard X 4' wide
Thank you for the linky! Looks like a good product.

A few other good alternatives are:

HUSHMAT
LIZARD SKIN
The Hushmat is black rather than Silver so it can be hidden better. The Lizard Skin actually is applied via spray gun and has no fumes. They also sell a ceramic treatment for heat that can be applied first- with the sound deadener on top of it which is nice. Best part is, you're not having to cut little pieces to get them inside the tight spots. This stuff can be applied to the smallest areas for great coverage.
Hope that helps!
