Mono-Leafs
« on: March 08, 2016 - 09:05:39 PM »
Anyone put Calvert Mono-Leafs on their E-body.
Is there a big weight savings?
72 Cuda, owned 25 years. 496, with ported Stage VI heads, .625 in solid roller, 254/258 at .050, 3500 stall, 3.91 rear. 850 Holley DP, Reverse manual valve body.

1999 Trans Am, LS1, heads, cam, headers, stall, etc! Love to surprise the rice rockets with this one. They seem so confident, then it's "what the heck just happened?"

No Calvert but I'm using Hyperco Chrysler Composite Leaf Springs. They are much lighter 9lbs per spring. Be advised they will require good quality adjustable shocks as they react much quicker than steel.

ya, I heard with the Calverts you need to buy some quality rear shocks.
I think my ESPO leafs are about 70 lb each. They have been good leafs though.
I'm just looking for a project!

I sent the below question to Calvert Racing Suspensions.  Will report back
on their response.

"I have a 72 Cuda with a 496, and 3500 stall.
What do I need to switch to your mono leafs, and what will it cost?  And what is weight savings? I need to keep stock ride height.
Thanks"
