That's pretty cool, I have some pics of this car from back I'm 07 (last time I was out that way) they were having some event in a park with a bunch of really old emergency vehicles.   The city I grew up in back in Cali had a 69 mustang as their D.A.R.E. car lol

Too cool.

Shame they never made a pillarless 4 door of that model.

Very cool!  When I see that it reminds me of the Vanishing Point movie.
1972 Dodge Challenger Rallye 340, AT, Code TB3=Super Blue, SBD=8/17/1971.  Yes, a Rallye without the fender louvers from the factory because of the body side molding option.

It is interesting that a police department would have budget to spend on the restoration of a vehicle.

It's a great story none the less..

Reminds me of a lot of the cop cars in 70's movies.  Of course its a cousin of my 70 Roadrunner, which makes it doubly cool in my book.  Old Mopar cop cars are cool, I actually had a 72 Fury II cop car with a 400 that back when I was in college.  It was the only car I owned that when I punched it and the gas gauge dropped, it never came back up!! Awesome car, but you couldn't afford to drive the thing even with mid 70's gas prices!
