restomod cuda
« on: September 24, 2012 - 07:37:20 PM »
I am in the process of buying a 1970 cuda with a 5.7 hemo and 4 speed overdive auto trasmission. The seller wants 40,000. The car has had a frame off resto and my inspection report was flawless. My question is : Is 40 k to much for this set up ? Numbers match are out of my price range so this I feel is the best fit for me. The car is in PHOENIX so some of you may know this plum crazy purple car. I am flying down this week to look at the car. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Thanks, 1970  5.7, 4 speed O/D toggle for O/D. Inviolet purple, all new chrome, battery in trunk, all new suspension parts with larger sway bars, interior is new. Built by a DODGE  specialist, 10k in paint, most factory metal except new trunk pan (very well done) custom cold air box, triple chrome bumpers feront and rear.  375 horse 23 miles to the gallon, new gas tank w baffles etc.
They wanted 47 k but after a month of back and forth the sell price is 40k.

inspection report from noted specialist

Overall condition of the car is immaculate condition. All decals, parts and trim looks like is on it. Very clean interior with seat belts. Straight body and body lines line up at the hood, trunk and doors. Doors and trunk  close nice and smooth. Rear trunk pan been replaced and battery relocated and done nicely in the trunk. Radio, A-track player, turn signal, Horn, lights, gauges and antenna seem to work ok. After market wheel and tires are clean and with good 95% life.  Engine compartment looks clean. 2004 Dodge Hemi Engine sound and runs strong with a good trans that shifts good. Of course vehicle been modified to make engine fit with over sized oil pan and relocated oil filter.  AC blows nice and cold. No leaks under the vehicle. Under carriage looks good and clean with a lot of new suspension parts on the front and rear. Aluminum over sized Radiator with aftermarket cooling fans. Computer tucked and hidden under dash with an excisable OBD 2 connector. Nicely done exhaust system with glass packs.
