DIY subframe connectors on a Barracuda - Examples?

Entertaining the idea of tabbing some bolt-in subframe connectors for the fish and was looking for some examples of what others may have done to influence what I end up with.

what I have done on many cars now is to use .125 wall retangular tube , notched in the middle to fit the floor contour , welding it with a plate beside the Tbar mount & welding onto the rear subframe rails , if you wanted to remove it the weld could easily be ground flat again & it will be far stiffer than  bolt in type

Sorry to resurface this...

Chryco any pics?   having a bridgeport and band saw available, I would like to try making these.

If I order a random length, could tubing be made to look as stock as the Cody method of cutting all separated plates?  I like the drain holes he added, helped the "stock" look.

There are a lot of members adding this feature, do most use the XV units?

I took Neil's advice and made my own too. It literally cost be maybe $10 in materials.

At first I had these but sold them again, too much work to fit them to the floor.

When I had them all cut and shaped to fit the car I clamped one end in my bridgeport vise and used a big adjustable to see how much twist they had. I then drilled 1" holes and then welded in thin wall tubing and it really made quite a noticable difference in being able to twist then !

Wanted to add one more flavor. I was originally trying to do the trans am X style brace but it would have caused havoc with the exhaust so I ended up with an H design. It had this done custom as i don't have the voltage at home to run a welder.....yet. It wasn't intended to look stock. The Cross bar unbolts for access to the drivetrain.

Looks like you lost some ground clearance with that design?

Yes about 2 inches of clearance lost (8inches to 6), but it looks like at the final ride height there was still lots of clearance, and I plan to use a stiff suspension. Clearance did not seem to be an issue for most people in my searches. I believe the front section of the bar is the lowest point now by an inch providing some insurance on important parts like the headers and oil pan. The shop that worked with me on this does alot of hollywood stunts cars that need to survive hard driving. The cross bar also can act as extra insurance against the u joint failing and letting the drive shaft become a pole vault. But I am new to this all so there little chance I thought through it perfectly.
