2012 Performance products
« on: March 09, 2012 - 05:11:21 PM »
My wife is looking for some performance tips.  First would be for the exhaust.  She would like to go for a system but doesn't think we can afford it so what is the recommended muffler to make it sound more agressive? Magnaflow? Flowmaster? How about suggestions for a cold air kit?

sorry, R/T 5.7.  To me the back tires are not wide enough, but that would be a waste of new tires.

on my wifes 06 Charger, I swapped the suitcase muffler for a pair of Flowmaster super 40's and left the rear resonators in tact. result was a increase in the growl with no drone at all. I just recently replaced the 5.7 exahust manifolds with 6.1 exhaust manifolds (they are factory shorty headers) and mid pipes. It really opened the car up. pulls harder and has a Old school V8 growl. Slight drone and can hear MDS kick in and out; However, I hardly notice it now and I only drive the car on the weekends. Well worth the swap IMO. Picked up the set of used manifolds and mid pipes off the LX forum for $400.00. I had to pay to have them installed as I do not have the tools nor time to do it myself.
