Watkins Glen run
« on: July 01, 2012 - 09:40:46 AM »
Guys, I had the BEST time at the Glen!  The Challenger exceeded my expectations.  With only 4,000 miles on the clock I was learning the car as much as I was learning the track.  But by the end of the first day I was catching up to all the Mustangs and most of the other cars on the track.  The SRT may be ready out of the box to go compete, but the standard R/T held it's own, at least at the DE event.  I never knew what that car was capable of until I was able to push it like that.

Me in the tech line

There was ONE classic Mopar there, a 70 Charger that was set up for track duty

I don't have any pics of my car yet, but this is my friend with his Laguna Seca Mustang.
Yes I own a 1972 Dodge Challenger Convertible T/A S/E with a 440 Six Pak. Can it get any more wrong?

Thanks!  I chatted with the guy that helped build the Charger.  He said he used to have an AAR Cuda set up for track duty but he sold it.  Any chance he's on here too?

He used to drop in now and again. Haven't seen him here in a long time. I'm very suprised to hear he sold the AAR. He is very knowledgeable and has spent a lot of years on road courses.

Yeah I chatted with him quite a bit.  He seems to know his stuff.  He still hit the track with his 96 intrepid tho.  The driver makes the car.
