Power Steering Box - Part Needed (Lever)
« on: March 15, 2012 - 04:50:38 PM »
Does anyone know where I can get this part? It is the lever out of a power steering box located just under the steering valve body for 1970 Cuda (and others).  Just broke mine today doing something stupid.

DO NOT just put that valve back in the way it is.  Once you start the car, you will nearly break your arm when the steering wheel spins to lock. DAMHIK

Just go to a salvage yard and take one out of any 70's-80's PS box.

Thanks.  Any idea what the exact year range is?  How far into the 80's?

I'm not possitive but I would think the early to mid 80's RWD cars should have it.  For sure up to 79.  I don't know if the PS boxes changed when they went to the transvers torsion bar suspension.

Do not quite me, but I think the boxes in full size vans up to the early 90s were pretty identical to b and e body boxes. Now I do not know if the rod and valve are the same, but its worth a look if all the old cars have been crushed in your nearby junkyard
