So, New Mexico had a superbird that they painted black.

Wondering if anyone knows where it is at?

This has a low quality image of the article.  If you zoom it...it's readable...barely

Not to highjack, but on a smilar note, anyone else hear the story about the superbird that was used as a getaway car in a casino robbery in the early 70's?  Read a similar thread years ago.  Always thought that was a neat thing.  Wonder if its true?

Never heard about that!  That is cool!  Take about getting away in style!  :grinyes:  Just neat thinking about the fact that they probably wanted a really fast car to get away in, but not the most inconspicuous car though.  Could see that car a mile away with that wing!

I do remember a Superbird or Daytona being used by the EPA on an airport runway to take air samples as airplanes were taking off and the Superbird/Daytona drove along side the plane to catch air samples.

Oop, here's a blurb on it, didn't sell for $175,000.  Look at the antenna, or whatever it is.  Also, check out where the dual exhaust exits.  Different.

Hey, look at this, someone made a model of the Blackbird!  Check out the police search lights!  Don't know if the real car had them.
