I've done a good bit of SCCA Pro Solo in the past.  I don't know if it was just how the Atlanta group ran the event or if its the same everywhere, but  eventually I got tired of spending an entire day for 3-4 2 minute runs.  Probably just the result of being popular and having lots of cars show up, but I think if I get back into anything its definitely going to be track days where hopefully I can spend a larger percentage of my time driving.  Cool cars, thanks.

Hi Jim,

The SCCA/pylon autocross was an obsession for me (and for John Sandberg) since the mid-1970s with our E-bodies...we were both very succesful and had lots of fun.  Actually, we've both gravitated more towrds the road course track days in the recent few years... definitely more fun and longer time on course with our cars... heck.. I even get to be the "pace car" at some wknd w2w events (Road America, Rt66 Autobahn, Blackhawk Farms).  Its become more "social" now rather than hard-core competition as it was all through the 70s-80-90s for the SCCA soloII and related autox events (gathered many class season championships.. and ~300 awards!).
