1970 Barracuda for sale
« on: April 24, 2012 - 06:27:13 PM »
Hello, I am new to this site and I dont usually have an E body, but I took in a 1970 Barracuda on a trade deal. I have owned this car for a very short time. Its time for me to make a transition in my life, so all of my project cars will be for sale. Lets outline the different areas of the car.

Drive train: It has a 318 of unknown origin, for all I know it could be matching numbers. It does not run but it is complete. The trans is a 904 and the condition of it is unknown. The rear end is an 8.75 with a non-sure grip carrier.

Brakes: Four wheel power drums that are in operational.

Tires/ wheels: It has four 14 inch rallyes with 3 brand new BFGs and one Goodyear that is in decent condition.

Interior: Dash is crack and has a non-rallye cluster. It has a auto console that is a good core. No seats. Door panels are chalky.

Body: It has rust in the usual areas. It has a 72 up front fenders that have rust in the dogleg. The Sport hood is in good condition. The following areas have rust.

Header panel: Dented and rusted
Front fenders: Rust in the dogleg
Roof skin: Rust around the window openings and drip rails
Doors: Rust in the corners
Rockers: Rust at the quarter seam
Quarter panels: Around the wheel openings and along the bottoms
Trunk lid: Rust around the back edge
Dutchman panel: Rust around the window opening and trunk opening
Floors: Needs full floor replacement
Trunk floor: Heavy surface rust and about a dozen small holes
Extensions: Rust near the seam and down at the bottom
Left front frame rail: Has extensive rust and needs to be replaced
Both rear frame rails: Have a small spot of rust at the end near the bumper

Overall this car need a complete resto that would be great for the person who is light on money but heavy on skill. This car is almost complete and would make a good core for whatever you desire. It has no rust in the firewall, A pillars, and B pillars. I have close to 100 pictures for you to see. Please check out the photobucket link to see extra pictures.

Well, he does say he's had it for "a very short time"

The picture is the same one as in ebay & also the ebay seller is also "making a transition in life"....   Maybe the sale didn't go through, or it's a scam.....

If anyone wants to know how much they will spend to get this sucker to a beautiful state.....  :smilielol:

This one actually looks worse then the one I bought with the exception of having a console (unknown condition) and a rallye hood (again unknown condition).

Let me just say you are probably looking at 7.5k in metal alone on this one.  :wow:

This car is in about the same shape mine was when I bought it, only I paid 600 bucks for it. Oh, now I have 17 grand tied up in it, and I did all the work myself, so this is not a good project car to start with, unless you paid less than 500 for it.
