dash install question

 Can I install my dash without dashpad? I am waiting on the dashpad to arrive and need to get dash/ column/wiring in. I have no windshield in and was hoping this would make it possible to do. Any thoughts?

Yes, I installed a new dash pad without removing the dash ( windshield was in too)

I have done this also.
Dash frame stays in and the dash can go on later.
All the washers are on the bottom and side.

I think you'll still be cursing.  It's soooo easy to put in as a complete assembly.  If the frame is out of the car already it's a no brainer.  It will be a lot quicker if you just waite.

There are nuts in places that are hard to reach when the dash is in.

agreed  long woble extention for yout socket, and a few choice words along the way.

The only good part about being a mechanic with lots of practice being stuck under a dash and lots of neat expensive tools to aid.I just have this damn may 8th completion deadline for our vacation at the ocean city md car show/cruise.I would feel a crap load better seing dash in with wiring up! I dont want to keep waiting for the pad only to put off the wiring!!!!! I will post up more pics under my resto thread soon.

If I remember right those gear wrenches come in handy for a few of the nuts!
