My name is Earl Scheib, and I'll paint any (diecast) car for $19.95

Wow, it been almost 30 year's since I've seen an Earl Scheib commercial.   :grinyes:

Great work David.   :2thumbs:

Thanks Mike. It was a quicky job, and it looks it. And the worst part is I still really don't know what the paint looks like. How do I know the company mixed the color correctly? It gives me some idea, but that's about it.

I love GA4 Gunmetal Grey. I was so tempted to go with that color on my Cuda.

In the end, I felt it needed black on it like a vinyl roof to break it up. So I decided against the Vinyl top and that eliminated it as a choice.

I agree. What sold me on it was the pic I posted earlier of the pseudo 71 TA with the black vinyl roof, black spoilers and wing and black stripes. That is very similar to my ultimate plan for the car, plus I'll have the black TA hood.

Here my engine compartment in GA-4 Gun metal gray you can see the light changes its appearance

AZ Dan, can you provide me with any particulars of your paint? Formula, brand, type and color of primer, anything that's going to change a final color?

I really like the color in your pic. Do you think the pic is a good representative of the actual color?

Normally I'd agree, but I've only seen this color on a car twice   Even then, if the color is so subtle, modern formulations might change it.

The paint came from TCP Global. I had a 71 Charger back in 79 that was Winchester gray should be the equal color. I would have to say that as I remember (it has been a few years) that this color is right. The 'Cuda had been repainted once before I bough it. If compare the  paint on it  now with some of the old fastners that did not get repainted it is a very close match. To me the lighting has a big effect on how the color looks. Sometimes I can stand and look at and then move over a few feet and look from a different angle and it seems to change the one. I will have a black vinyl roof as the car had that originally. I think that color needs the black roof.

Thanks for the info. See my earlier post about how different qualities of light affect color; I agree with you completely. This one will change more than most others. I'm pretty convinced that I want to go with it, and I'm just trying to figure out how to best verify that I'm going to get what I'm after.
