Need rear Valance photos please?
« on: April 26, 2012 - 09:02:55 PM »
Looking at buying a new rear valance for my 74 Challenger but can't decide to get exhaust cuttouts or not. Could I please some photos of the rear of Challengers with and with out Rear Valance cutouts? Thanks

heres a pic of mine man its always hard to decide but unless ur gunna do a a set of turndowns or T/A style exhuast thats always cool, i tucked my tips back a lil bit looks better to me. sometimes i see them like an inch past the valance looks kinda goofy to me i used original tips and and grafted in a 3 inch pipe instead of paying for those over priced TTI ones.

I don't have a challenger, but I have to tell you that I like the cutouts.

What are your plans for the car?  The stock exhaust tips look nice but if I was building a modified car I'd go a different route.  I think some 2 1/2" or maybe 3" turndowns, angle cut so they are horizontal to the ground would look great.  Only have them hanging down maybe 1/2" from the bottom of the valance.

If your going with stock type wheels I'd go with the cut-outs.  If you are going with wide tires in the rear... removing the 74 bumper guards and going to have some serious HP, I think the turn downs would look better IMO.  I don't think you can go wrong either way.

Here are some of my 74

And when I was experimenting with bumper guards

If you don't run guards, you'll probably have to do some work to eliminate the cut outs for the rear leaf.  I've seen it done but I can't find the link to it.
