New parts for 1974 'Cuda
« on: June 21, 2002 - 05:58:01 AM »
Hello,
I just recently bought a 1974 'Cuda and I was wondering where can you get good NOS or good reproduction parts. I already know about Yearone, but they dont have some things I need. Also is there any place that would sell a new grill for that car? Also does anyone know if they sell just lower Rear Quarter patch panels? All I can find is full Quarters. Because this car has very little rust. It would be a shame to cut out all that original metal. Any info on this will be helpful.

  Congrats on your purchase
Year One had grilles up until about 2 years ago ... I should have bought all they had left ::) tough to find good ones now though but I will look around. worst case scenario you can always cut a patch panel froma full 1/4 , check with Year one they may know of a patch panel as well.

There is a place called Brad's NOS parts. They are expensive but he has had the parts I needed after looking for almost a year. His website is www.bradsnosparts.com.
As for needing only a portion of the quarter panel. There is a company called Autobody Specialties Inc. www.autobodyspecialt.com or 888-277-1960. I have never used them but they do have different panels.
What I did was I bought the whole panel but used only the portion I needed. A bit expensive but unless you can find a doner car or supplier that's about all you can do.
You don't want to replace the whole panel. I find that the reproduction panels don't have the same definition as the originals.

It is nearly impossible for me to find the parts I need. Eveything I need is mostly the parts they don't carry. Thank god I am not in a hurry. I am in need of a passenger side headlight bezel. The drivers side is perfect. Also I can not find that rubber bumper filler in the rear of the car in between the bumper and the tailight panel. The corners are good but the center is missing a few hunks. And of course the grill. If I can not find one what do you suggest to glue?? per say that one together. Does anyone know of anyplace that has this or someone that has any of this??? Also I decided that I am just going to go with the full quarters. I noticed it is fairly rusted over the wheel wells once I got into them.  Thanks for all your help. I will keep you guys posted on my progress..
