i have been reading some posts from different sites. i thought i knew the different types of sure grip. but now after  reading i'm not sure. this is a picture i thought was  one that took the clutch packs.sorry the picture is not the best. i can take more.

 That is the clutch pack style , it has 4 spider gears
The cone style has springs also but only 2 spiders

Mike, the way you do burnouts you'll be much better off with the clutch pack type, they hold up much better to that sort of thing! ;D The Auburn unit is the cone style, they are the ones building them now.

thanks, for the info.
so far all been well with the cone type, that's all i had at the time.and  i'll rebuild that unit for a  back up.
