    I just had to share...  my youngest came out to help me work on the car this evening... 

    May seem boring, but he's probably the one to carry on with the Cuda someday when I can't.

    That is so cool.  My son is 11 and does help out once in awhile.  He really was a helper when he was 7-8 but now his interests are slightly changing.  I'm going to try to keep him interested as that is how I learned from my dad and brother.

    It’s always great to see father/son spending quality time together.  He’ll learn how to use tools, figure out problems (it’s Mopar, there will be problems), and gain confidence. Most importantly, he’ll have cherished memories for the rest of his life.  By doing the project together he’s learning valuable skills that he will eventually pass onto his son/daughter one.

    The really cool thing for you is now you have someone young that can get up & down to retrieve that 9/16’s socket and it won’t hurt his young knees and back.  :bananasmi

    That is awsome he'll be a mopar maniac for sure, a few Mopar nationals and he will be hooked for life.  I actually got my wife and daughter out in the garage to help me put in my K-frame and rear axle.

    Lucky kid.   My dad didn't give a rat's arse about cars.

    Thankfully, my girlfriend's dad when I was 16 showed me stuff like changing oil, points, etc.  And my best friend had a GTO when he was 14 that he was slowly working on and got me into cars.

    Keep it up! Gotta get the next gen interested in cars.  Whether it be into musclecars, ricers, low riders, it's still good clean fun to have such a hobby.

    That's a good feeling to pass it on. I had my 11yr old daughter out in the garage and she actually busted loose all the head bolts on my 302 for my Fastback build.

    I started back before college. My dad paid for parts and I fixed everything. Even if I don't know what I'm doing I'll figure it out eventually. Luckily, having great buddies makes every step of the way a little easier! Whenever I'm married and have kids one day I'll teach them to have mopar through their veins too!

    It's so true!  I have to be careful not to make him feel like a go-fer. 

    Thanks all for the comments.    I like the idea of getting a car with him and the two of us working on it until he's old enough to drive it.   hmmm...  could be fun.
