RALLYE 15 x 6-1/2" TRIM RING QUESTION ???
« on: May 09, 2012 - 09:53:37 AM »
hi guys; just got a set of original 15 x 6-1/2" rallye wheels. i looked on jegs and summit for trim rings. they only sell 15x7's. will these 15x7 trim rings fit on a 15x6-1/2" rim? if not, where do i find the correct trim rings?

regards, dave

I don't see why they wouldn't fit.  I got mine from Summit.  15X7 on the front and 15X8 on the back.  All 4 rings are the same.

Just a tip if you didn't already know.  I don't know about the Challenger but they are probably the same as the Barracuda.  1970 rings are polished and 1971-1974 have a brushed finnish.  Summit sells both styles.

thanks for the reply. i was told that 15x7 trim rings will bottom out on the 15 x 6-1/2 rims and that the original mopar trim rings are not all the same depths. the reproductions are most likely all the same depth. i just want to verify before getting a set. thanks, dave

You know what, I am sorry, you might be right.  I just went out and look at my car in the garage.  The ring on my 15X7 fits pretty close at the center.  It might bottom out on a 15X6.5 wheel.

The first picture is with a 7 inch wheel.  The second is with an 8 inch wheel.

i talked to someone at wheel vintiques and he said the 15x7 trim rings will bottom out on 15 x 6-1/2" wheels. it doesnt look like anyone produces these either. anyone have a line on where i might find some original mopar rings?

thanks, dave

Not to burst your bubble, but my guess is that when you find the source (assuming they are in decent condition) you will spend more than you would on new wheels.
mmmmm.... Mopar.... *drool*
