oil pickup tube/screen
« on: May 14, 2012 - 12:04:33 AM »
I picked up an oil pan and pickup tube yesterday (used). The pan is fine but the tube had some chunks in it. I started pulling a bunch of bearing pieces out. I can't really get all the way under the plate by the screen.

Any recommendations on how I can be sure it's all clean before it's installed?

With a small  flat blade screwdriver  you  can pry up  the  edge  of   the   pickup   and carefully  slide   the  screen out.  Clean  it  out   and  press  the  edge back  around  the screen.

Thanks I'll give that a go. I'm about ready to install the pan and finish the engine clean to be ready for paint.
