 for those who have done this, what did you do with the electrical brackets that are covered with rubber?

Are you sure you want to so that?  The frame is the ground for so many things...

I have been there and got the HAT! Not a good Idea........had nothing but problems with grounds...lots of extra work grinding ground points.
