Ready to buy a new carb and leaning to the quick fuel, hotrod 670..  Looks very similar to the proform, and both seem to be styled after hollys.  Anyone run a quick fuel, or can anyone tell me more about them?  I'd like to order one up this week.  Thanks,
Doug

I bought this one for my 451" build. Haven't used it yet but I'm hoping it works good!

Same company ... you pay a bit more for a QF & I think it may have stainless throttle plates , the Proform is slightly cheaper without the stainless

Quickfuel was formed by some ex Holley engineers and is based out of Bowling Green, Ky which is also the home of Holley.

Proform is part of  Speciality Autoparts, USA and is based out of Warren, Michigan and appears to be more a marketing company with a wide variety of products.  It definitely uses the Quickfuel carb body, and, I suspect more parts in their carbs.   I have never been able to confirm that QF has any ownership in Proform/Speciality Autoparts, but, the carbs are very similar.  Some profess to believe that the QF carbs are more carefully assembled and more apt to work properly right out of the box, but I don't know if that can be believed or is just wistful thinking :)

Being that QFT was originally formed as a carb tuning company and then evolved into building them, it may well be that their seed money came from Speciality Autoparts?

I also read that a Holley division took Barry Grant over.  BG is certainly pushing some new concept carbs these days, but, like many, I wonder if they will work.

One thing is for sure.  Holley has been trying to come up with similar developments to their carbs to match the various start up companies that came from ex Holley people.

The local speed shop that I used to buy from suddenly had both in stock & I asked about them carrying both brands suddenly , they told me that they had access to both brands from the same supplier & that it was the same company . I assumed that was true but I cannot positively confirm it
