71 Challenger 383 WIW
« on: June 16, 2012 - 10:29:30 AM »
So I'm considering selling my 71 Challenger to fund a new project. I REALLY want a fuel injected modern hemi car and I hate to devalue mine by swapping everything out, so it would be easier to just sell and start over.  Problem is, I don't keep up with the trends much I just enjoy my car and I'm not sure what it is worth in its current condition in this market.  Here's some quick info, I can post specifics later:

1971 Challenger
factory 383 - 2bbl car
originally burnt orange metallic
Restored in 08 new quarters, trunk, one wheelhouse, new hood (had a liftoff T/A hood - still have this), weld rims (have like 3 other sets: rallyes, cragars, steelies), repainted Dodge Intense Blue Pearl, black interior in good condition, has aftermarket racing seats that adjust and slide, hidden mp3 cd player behind glove box, B&M shifter with reverse manual valve body 727, 3800 stall converter, nom 383 with Edelbrock aluminum heads, bored  .030 over, lots of quality parts. I have cam specs, etc but can't recall them off hand but I will find my paperwork shortly....Grille and tail panel in excellent shape. One small crack in grille. Body is solid, new metal no bondo.  I'm not sure what my body man did on the C pillar though because it has started to bubble, I've considered having the roof repainted above the body line but its really not that bad.  You have to be like 5 feet or closer to notice and i'm not THAT picky. Frame connectors, drive shaft loop...I had the entire car apart and put a lot of new parts on it and touched basically everything. It's a solid car and I'll definitely miss her if she goes but just wanted to weigh my options if I could sell for enough $$ to fund my project I'm dreaming of.

I know i'm forgetting a lot, but ask and I can reply.  I know its not stock but it could be fairly easy aside from paint of course.  And yea it sits a little high in the rear, we had springs rearched as opposed to buying SS springs and it could be a little lower but it launches like a dream lol

Used to race is occasionally but haven't since restored.  Best ET: 12.20 @ 110mph 1/4, 7.58 @ 85mph 1/8

Thanks!
