Please tell us what pump that is and where we can get it.  Also did the kit to modify the tank come with it? if not please tell us about the modification to the tank.

I have to give credit to thedodgeboys for the idea - I basically mirrored what he did. The kit I used was the same as he used:

It is basically a Walbro 255lph pump that is so famous in the aftermarket world. The kit comes with the pump, baffle, and housing. The piece of metal that drops it down a little I made myself with a brake. You could mount it flush to the top of the tank, but you will have to modify the trunk floor. It was a little more work to drop it, but I didnt want to cut the trunk floor. Anyhow, the kit has holes for both a feed and a return but I capped off the return and used the original sending unit as my return.....figured I had to have the sending unit in place for my fuel guage and with the line attached, it looks stock.

FYI, there are a couple of vendors that make EFI tanks but they are all 800+ and have long lead times. I built my tank for around half that (w/ new tank) and am happy with the outcome - it was a bit of work, but for 400 bucks I think it was worth it. You could save a bunch of money if you reuse your tank - I didnt because I build this on the side and wanted to drive my car in the meantime.

Thanks, i was looking at the Walbro pumps. They seem real nice.  Thinking of ordering an EX EFI Kit with out the pump and then using the Walbro.

Great thread. Thanks for the pictures of your tank modification. I'll be putting them to good use. This thread, Rich Nebal at fastmanefi and Rob (Shelbydog) have got me convinced that this is the modification I need to do to my car. I can't wait until the parts start showing up on my door step. That is the way I would do it if I had to do it over again. The fuel pump kit FAST supplies is an external fuel pump, a fuel filter, the regulator/guage, fuel line, and a 'harness'. The fuel filter, regulator, and line can be purchased seperately @ summit or wherever. The harness is just a 12 AWG piece of cable with an end of it, which you can make yourself. If you go with an internal pump it isnt that much more $$$, just extra work. Good luck!

Simply put, I will never own another carb again. The next car I do will have EZ-EFI or MPFI.
